Fizwoz is an online marketplace for photos and videos captured on your camera phone. The service consists of two parts; a cameraphone application and an online auction.
How does fizwoz work?
Photos or videos captured on your cameraphone are selected in the fizwoz mobile application. You categorize, caption and optionally describe the photo then give it a Starting Bid and optional 'Buy Now' and Reserve price then submit the photo or video into the fizwoz auction.
How do I become a fizerTM ?
fizingTM is easy, simply create your free account using our camera phone application or go to http://www.fizwoz.com and select register at the top of the page.

Can I upload Photos and Videos from my Computer to fizwoz?
No. Only images from your cell phone can be sold at this time. This helps us ensure that you are the original content owner, or copyright holder, and that we have the highest possible resolution for the buyer.
What's the minimum bid price on fizwoz?
If you leave the auction fields blank on the mobile application we will set the starting bid price at $1.00 the minimum bid price. Of course you can set starting price, reserve and buy now prices of any value but you must use whole dollars.
Why should I enter a 'Buy Now' price?
If you feel your photo or video is really compelling and has immediate newsworthiness then consider giving the item a 'Buy Now' price. This will let buyers acquire your photo immediately and publish it on their website or TV programming. Even better, you make money more quickly.
Why should I enter a Reserve price?
The reserve price is the minimum bid you will accept for your photo or video. Set a realistic price based on what you think someone would be willing to pay. The more newsworthy or compromising the image the higher the value. Check on fizwoz for other photos or videos of a similar subject and use the fizability factor to gauge your reserve price.
How do I know if my photos or video are interesting?
The ultimate test of this is did they sell? However, you can gauge interest in your photo or video by the fizability factor
What's the fizability factor next to my photo or video mean?
This is the rating system fizwoz gives to your photo or video based on over 20 different factors including, number of bids, bid price, time to auction finish, reserve met, number of views, number of signed in views (full screen image), fizing rating given by fizwoz users etc. The higher the fizability factor the hotter the photo or video.
What kind of photos and videos sell on fizwoz?
Just about any image that you find interesting and consider newsworthy. You'll get a better idea of the type of content our buyers are looking for when you see our categories. Think about news stories you have seen recently on TV or online. Obviously we're not all going to be there when a plane lands on the Hudson but just about anything that you see that is interesting to you is probably interesting to someone else. We think fizwoz will become the AP Wire for images. News organizations will write stories around images captured by a fizer - that's you!
Who buys my content?
fizwoz buyers range from mainstream media companies like CNN, BBC, MSNBC and Entertainment Networks; Local news organizations like KTVU, Mercury News; Specialty publications like People, OK! and O Magazine, to thousands of bloggers covering a wide variety of topics. Just about anyone reporting the news or creating current affairs content will be interested in fizwoz content.
How will buyers know about my photos? fizwoz automatically alerts buyers to a photo or video that matches the content they are interested in bidding on. They can view, bid, pay for, and download the content they win all through the fizwoz marketplace.
How much will I get paid for my content?
You receive 60% of the auction price.
If I sell my photos and videos on fizwoz can I still use them myself?
You are selling the copyright ownership to the buyer therefore you will need to get permission from them to continue to use the images yourself. The terms of the sale are covered in the copyright transfer agreement on a registration page.
How do I get paid?
Funds are deposited directly in to your PayPal account.
How long does an auction last?
As you may be in a position to capture a photo that might make the news fizwoz ensures that a buyer doesn't have to wait long to win the content and download it. We vary the auction time based on the category. For example, the Breaking News category only lasts for an hour, The Fun category lasts one month, Sports category lasts for seven days etc. At the end of that time, if the media has not sold, it will be reposted to the auction a number of times depending again on the category. For instance, breaking news is reposted 48 times (i.e. for two days).
Can I change the auction prices if my items are not selling?
Yes. Select My fizwoz on the home screen of the fizwoz mobile application. Locate the image you want to change and select it. Now select "Change" next to the auction price(s) you want to change. Enter the new value and select "Done." Now select "Resubmit."
Can I change the name and category of my photos and videos in auction?
Yes. Log in to your account on fizwoz.com and select 'My Auction' now select "Edit Auction" in the "Action" drop down nest to the photo or video you want to change. You can change the caption, description, prices and category of the photo or video. The new information will be posted the next time the item is placed in auction - unless, of course, it sells before then.
How do I delete an auction item on fizwoz?
Log in to your account on fizwoz.com and select 'My Auction' and select "Delete Item" from the "Action" drop down next to the item you want to remove. Remember you cannot end an auction or delete an item that has received a bid.
What happens if my photos don't sell?
If, after the auction expires, your photo or video has still not been sold you have three choices:
1) Remove the item from fizwoz
2) Re-price the media and resubmit for a further 24 hours
3) Assign a non exclusive copyright to fizwoz to act as an agent for you.
What happens if I assign my content to you?
fizwoz has developed a number of destination websites that show photos and videos fizedTM by our sellers that have not been sold in auction. We sell advertising against these images to advertisers who are interested in reaching an audience who are viewing this content. We provide editorial review of all the images we post so it's a safe advertising environment for advertisers.
Do I get a piece of the advertising action?
Yes. We pay our fizers a percentage of the advertising revenue based on how many impressions their content generates. So you really have two ways to make money with fizwoz for something you already do, namely, taking photos with your cameraphone.
What happens if I don't get paid?
We will not transfer the photo or video to the buyer until we have received confirmation from PayPal that you have been paid. If you have any questions about a payment please contact out client services department at clientservices@fizwoz.com
